Advocacy

LAMAS was founded to support the study and conservation of buildings and of the archaeological layers which are often the only evidence of London’s past. Redevelopments often affect or destroy this evidence, and if this is unavoidable, the evidence must be recorded to a high standard. We do not get a second chance.

LAMAS will stand up to defend London’s heritage where it sees fit, in public and in private discussions. LAMAS contains experts in the history and archaeology of London, who can brief campaigners in their own localities. We can provide expert witnesses at Public Inquiries.

For further information, contact the Hon Secretary or the Chair of either the Archaeology Committee or the Historic Buildings and Conservation Committee.
