What does LAMAS do?
LAMAS has played a leading role in the protection and preservation of London’s heritage for over 150 years.
Through its publications, lectures, conferences and events programme, the Society makes information on London’s past available to a wider audience. Our members include archaeologists, historians, students, those who work with historic buildings and anyone with an interest in the past. We sponsor the work of the Central London Young Archaeologists’ Club.
LAMAS campaigns in support of archaeology, history and museums in London. The Society promotes conservation of archaeology, historic buildings and landscapes, research and archaeological work in London. We support Local Societies which are affiliated to LAMAS and promote their events.
