On Monday 13 April the London and Middlesex Archaeological Society (LAMAS) wrote to Sir Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, to request him to refuse the planning applications for Liverpool Street Station using powers under article 6 of the Town and Country Planning (Mayor of London) Order 2008.

In addition, under article 7 of the Town and Country Planning (Mayor of London) Order 2008 the criteria to be considered when deciding whether to call in an application are:

1. The development would have a significant impact on the implementation of the London Plan

2. The development would have significant effects that are likely to affect more than one London borough

3. There are sound planning reasons for intervention

We firmly believe that these three criteria apply in the case of these planning applications.

Our letter mirrors those written by other heritage organisations that are members of LISSCA (Liverpool Street Station Campaign).

We also encourage our members and supporters to write to the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, urging him to refuse the Network Rail scheme for Liverpool Street Station.  The Mayor is expected to make a decision within weeks so Act Now!
