    • About Governance
LAMAS was founded in 1855 for the purpose of investigating the antiquities and early history of the Cities of London and Westminster and the Metropolitan County of Middlesex.
LAMAS does this by promoting research into London’s archaeology, local history and historic buildings, and by supporting the publication of the results that come from such research. The Society makes this information available in printed publications, in lectures and in conferences.
