  • From feats of arms to amateur sports: changing attitudes to exercise in Tudor and Stuart London - Rosemary Weinstein (formerly of the Museum of London)
  • Publication Award Presentations.

Afternoon session        

  • Cricket: the history of Lord's 1787 onwards - Stephen Green (former curator of the Museum at Lords)
  • 'Rowing as a way of life'- the root and branch of rowing on London's river.- Christopher Dodd (consultant rowing historian, River and Rowing Museum, Henley-on -Thames)

Break

  • Leaps and bounds: young women gymnasts in East London 1917-21 - Carol Bentley (City of London Archaeological Society)
  • London's Olympic Yesterdays - Murray Hedgecock (Sports Journalist)        

The displays of publications by Local History Societies will be on show from 10am until 5pm and can be visited throughout the day in the Clore Education Centre above the Weston Theatre.
Refreshments will not be provided outside the Museum’s restaurant, cafe and bar, but picnic areas will be available for people to consume their own food and drink.
